Dave Mankin shares the step-by-step process of creating a presentation using Adobe Acrobat.
Suppose you want to send a presentation to someone, but you’re not sure it they have Powerpoint? Maybe you have a newer version than they use, so you fear they might not be able to view your file. Oh no – they have a Macintosh & you have a PC.
Don't worry – if you have Adobe Acrobat, you have the ability to make a full-screen presentation that will play on nearly every computer on the planet – as long as they have Adobe Reader or Acrobat installed. With any pdf file open in Acrobat, press Ctrl-L (PC) or Cmd-L (MAC). This hides the Acrobat interface and shows each page in full-screen view. Press the Ctrl/Cmd-L again to return to normal view. Pressing escape will do the trick too.
Now that you've seen a pdf file in full screen view, if you would like to ‘instruct’ a particular pdf file to open in full screen view automatically when the file is opened on any computer, press Ctrl-D (PC) or Cmd-D (MAC) to enter Document Properties. Click on the Initial View tab and check the Open In Full Screen option. Accept the changes & be sure to save your document. Close the file & re-open it. That’s all there is to it.
Pages can be advanced by either clicking the space bar or enter. Experiment with the options of the pages palette (set page transitions option) and you'll discover page transitions not unlike those found in Powerpoint. The pages can even advance on their own using the Autoflip option.
