Bringing it all together
Google Wave: it's a game changer, folks. Social media meets email meets wiki meets Flickr meets blog. From first view, it looks like you will be able to use Google Wave to manage many of your communication tools: Facebook, Twitter, project management, blog, email, and more. Slick, smart navigation. Watch the video. (Warning: it runs about an hour and twenty minutes.) Check out how you can "playback" the content of a "wave", allowing you to see how the "conversation" has progressed. Google Wave is projected to be released by the end of 2009.
For you Web dev geeks out there, time to start learning HTML 5 if you haven't done so already. Wave makes big use of HTML 5, as it improves interoperability by making precise rules on how to handle all HTML elements.
Some of the new features in HTML 5 are functions for embedding audio, video, graphics, client-side data storage, and interactive documents. HTML 5 also contains new elements like <nav>, <header>, <footer>, and <figure>.
The HTML 5 working group includes AOL, Apple, Google, IBM, Microsoft, Mozilla, Nokia, Opera, and hundreds of other vendors.
